Guiding as a part-time entrepreneur, I’m organizing these trips out of a passion for the sport and shared experience. To be out there on the river as much as possible. To show these unique resources and point out fresh strategies for catching these selective fish. The self-development and learning in fly fishing add a sense of mission to life. As a long-time avid angler, being a guide is now at the center of that mission.
Living in Saariselkä, I’m fortunate to have the resources right outside the door. It has allowed me to study and explore the local rivers extensively and get a deeper understanding of them every season. The time spent and the observations made on the water have only intensified the sense of being encompassed with something special. I believe the unique fishery for migratory brown trout in these rivers should be on the map as a fly fishing destination.
Although the trout stocks are in healthy condition, C&R culture is not the standard around here and trout are also subject to commercial and domestic lake fishing. Oarsman fly fishing values responsibility and all trout will be released on our trips. If the species were protected, the potential for thriving fly fishing opportunities in the area would be immense.
My mission is not only to take you on unforgettable fishing adventures but also to impart my knowledge and expertise. Join me to create memories while honing your skills and connecting with the beautiful outdoors.
